Born in Kyoto, Kuwabara graduated from high school in both New Zealand and Japan. A graduate of Hunter College in New York, she is now a freelance photographer frequently working with local artists and musicians. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Shanghai, Moscow, Paris, and Zurich.
